Very frequently asked questions

Q: So, why should soap be used instead of body wash?
A: Well very good question demands a very complicated answer. Personal preference. Yes. That's all. Of course, soap contains less chemicals versus the body wash. Less chemicals means more natural.

Q: So, why are the soap made from Ethan more expensive than, lets say, commercial brands in Ralph's or walmart?
A: Commercial soap are made by large commercial machines automated for speed and efficiency. Ethans soap is made by hand and in the process of making, we preserve the natural ingredients. Commercial soaps making process tends to use less natural ingredients as they maximize today's cutting edge cost saving solutions. Meaning its more fluff than goody.

Q: Well, which so is better? Commercial or Hand crafted?
A: In most cases both soap does the basic job of cleaning. But the only difference is that after the soap cleanse your skin, how much chemical does it leave on it? In the case of commercial soap, it removes moisture to give you a face-palm freshness that can be felt a block away. Mean while our hand crafted soap would cleanse, refresh your skin and enhance the moisture in it. It gives your freshness without depriving your skin of all the moisture.

Q: People say soap is like money, it never really dries. Is it true?
A: Yes. Soap takes time to cure. And it will continue to cure even after production. Some times soap will release moisture that would even make its wrapping paper moist. This is normal. Soap needs to breath just like us.

Q: How should I store soap?
A: In an area with some ventilation. Do not store under sunlight. Store in room conditions. Do not seal soap in a closed container.

Q: How long can soap be stored?
A: Technically there is no limit to how long it can be stored. But it is safe to say that the longer it goes the weaker the scent and cleaning powers. On average Ethan’s soap should be used within 1 year of -ready- date.

Q: There are so many different kind of soaps which one is good for me?
A: Our soaps are made for different reasons and skin conditions. Each ingredient gives a different overall experience when you use it. Some will want a very silky experience, others want freshness period! Our recommendations are to use the sample pack, find the soap that you like. Use that one.

Q: So I have heard that soap should not be used on hair, is that true?
A: Yes and No. Some people use soap on hair. Generally it makes the hair very rough and not as smooth as shampoo.
